Remembering David (Dash) Green
Hello!! Thank you for being here to help me raise monies for the GI Cancer Institute. Dave (Dash) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Oesophageal cancer in February 2021. He had the best medical treatment, with Chemo, Radiation and Surgery. He went into remission in July 2021 and we were so relieved. Then in October 2021 he was having lots of pain in his lower back and rib area. After some "tooing and froing" we were advised that he had a secondary cancer just above his right kidney and it was inoperable.
We prepared for more chemo and Immunotherapy, but there were terrible side effects and his left lung collapsed and his right lung was also filling with fluid. He had emergency surgery to re-inflate the lung. Although it was successful he never was never able to recover. He then went on to catch Covid 19 when he was at his most vulnerable.
He succumbed to this terrible disease on 22 April 2022 (he was only 47). I want to raise money every year in his honour to try and get more patients into trials. I want to give them more options and maybe make the 5 year life expectancy a 10 year life expectancy.
I want families to have more time and not have to go through the journey that Dash and I went through.
